What is an IOP?
At Row Psychiatric Services, our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) provides a higher level of support for individuals who need more than weekly therapy but do not require inpatient hospitalization. Designed for children, adolescents, and adults facing significant emotional, behavioral, or mental health challenges, our IOP offers structured, evidence-based treatment in a flexible, community-based setting.

Child IOP
At Row, our child IOP uses story telling (conversation circles) to help the children access their joy, sadness, strength, and weakness. Through storytelling, we explore the child’s lived experiences in both their emotional and social development. Our conversation circles inspires both internal, and external transformation.
Our storytelling approach “recognizes the limitations of talking about feelings to children in everyday language. Stories can speak to children on a deeper and far more immediate level then literal, everyday language” (Sunderland 4).
In Row Psychiatry’s IOP, clients are in treatment up to 4 days per week for 8-12 weeks, and runs for 2 hours per treatment session.

Adult IOP
At Row, our adult IOP focuses on Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills for individuals struggling with emotional regulation, interpersonal challenges, and mental health disorders.
This evidence-based program is designed to provide comprehensive therapeutic support for three days a week, promoting emotional stability, mindfulness, and coping strategies in a group setting. It is tailored to help participants integrate DBT skills into their daily lives to improve their overall quality of life.
